Translation of the documentary "Vanishing of the bees"

As you know, documentary is one of the best ways to attract attention to ecological problems. This documentary we translated for our friends, the Environmental film festival "Eco Cup".

Every year the festival team looks for the best foreign environmental movies and shows them for the russian audience. They also invite experts and translate the subtitles from English to Russian.

Well, on November 12, 2006, we rolled into the yard of bees at Ruskin, Florida, to pick up 400 hives of bees — and they were empty. There were no bees in the boxes. I mean, I literally got down and crawled around. There're no dead bees anywhere. They flew off someplace. And never came back.
Dave Hackenberg, "Vanishing of the bees"

The Colony Collapse Disorder is a harrowing mystery for thousands of people around the world. Some of them are beekeepers, the others are scientists, producers of fruits and vegetables or just ordinary city and village dwellers. In New York, London and Paris people are arranging beehives right on the roofs of their houses. European governments are banning lots of system pesticides which can affect the bee health. Now russian audience can also find out what's happening to the bees.

"Vanishing of the bees" is a big 90-minute story of a small honeybee. We told it together with the movie creators and "Eco Cup".
